True exchange. In real life, I countered his desperate exclamation with "I certainly didn't get these ugly accusations when we discussed whether meercats can meow underwater!" Which was also true.
Poor guy was so baked that he could barely keep his eyes open.
As you may be able to tell, I'm tried something new, stylistically.
