The frontispiece is based on a semi-popular photographed of The Great American Hope himself. Couldn't resist temptation and all that.
I'm still not sure whether Beansprout's left hand really has to be visible in the fourth panel; the idea was to give the reader assurance regarding what happened to the remaining coins (he palmed them).
