When you fall in love, you initially think you're seeing the world through a common set of rose-tinted glasses. By the time you get married, you had better gotten past that.
Marriage means living with the fact that your significant other will gradually transform from what you thought he/she was like to what he/she really is... and then evolve further. At least it isn't dull.
The idea of coloring the past in sepia seemed golden at the time I came up with it. Sorry, bad pun. Anyhow, please note that I am gradually achieving consistency in the wife's portrayal.
